HR: The New Agenda Conference

Few will argue that HR does not hold the centre stage in the New Normal. This time, it behoves HR professionals and particularly CHROs not to squander the opportunity.  The HR community needs to accept that this newfound importance brings with it new responsibility.  HR must consciously innovate to stay ahead of the curve and drive outcomes that matter, and they must be ready to be held accountable for the money they spend and the value it creates.  HR must be relentless in shaping the organisation’s capability to thrive in a world that is constantly disrupted and step up to play a leading role in transforming the business.

HR matters – and because it does, there is a greater expectation from the business. This means that HR professionals need to upgrade their skills and capabilities so that they are not found wanting in fulfilling their new mandate.

The old ways of “doing HR” will no longer be relevant and it is time for HR to reimagine itself in a post-Covid world.  This new role will demand a “new style” of HR professional.

The above is an extract from a chapter of the imminent book publication by KR shared by Paul Norman, Chief Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Officer at MTN, who will give the opening keynote to set the tone for the HR the New Agenda conference taking place virtually on 25 and 26 November 2021.

This conference provides you with the opportunity to learn more on the new competencies and capabilities to lead your organisation confidently through continuous disruption and discontinuous change that defines our new normal. Make sure you don’t miss it!
